In the mid-1990s, Daniel purchased a lakeside property with a struggling lawn. A neighbor warned him about local fertilization laws and suggested using compost instead of chemical fertilizers. Daniel gave it a try. After aerating, reseeding, and spreading compost by hand, the results were remarkable. Within weeks, his lawn was lush, green, and healthy.
While the lawn itself improved, the real challenge became clear: top dressing by hand was slow, exhausting, and inefficient. This sparked Daniel’s determination to create a simple, reliable top dresser that would make top dressing easier for lawn care professionals and homeowners. In 1994, this vision led to the founding of Ecolawn.
Today, Daniel’s focus on designing user-friendly lawn care equipment—especially high-quality compost spreaders and top dressers—continues to define Ecolawn as a leader in the industry.
Jérôme’s love of nature began in childhood, exploring outdoors more than staying inside. His first job in a garden center deepened his knowledge of plants and landscaping, shaping his belief that outdoor spaces should be enhanced without compromising their natural balance.
Beyond his passion for landscapes, Jérôme is passionate about people. His curiosity, empathy, and background in Business Administration allow him to connect deeply with customers, partners, and colleagues, ensuring that Ecolawn remains a company where professional expertise and personal relationships thrive.
Jérôme joined Ecolawn in 2017 and became part-owner in 2021, supporting the mission to make lawn care easier, simpler, and more effective for professionals.

Intrigued by these results, he began studying the benefits of compost: improved soil structure, increased water retention, stimulated microbial activity, balanced pH, and natural protection against pests, weeds, and disease.
Neighbors quickly took notice and asked for the same treatment. Daniel realized there was both a need and growing desire for natural, eco-friendly lawn care solutions—options that delivered results without relying on synthetic fertilizers or harmful chemicals.
As demand grew, Daniel continued top dressing using only a shovel. But he soon realized how physically demanding and unsustainable it was. Daniel realized that to truly serve landscapers and homeowners, he needed a tool that made the process faster, easier, and more precise.
Motivated by the challenge of hand-spreading top dressing and wanting to innovate, Daniel discovered a machine that nearly met his needs. He set out to enhance it for maximum efficiency and ease of use. By refining its design and functionality, he created what would become the first Ecolawn Applicator: a durable, easy-to-use machine built with lawn care professionals in mind.
His goal was simple: create a reliable, easy-to-use top dresser that made eco-friendly top dressing accessible, efficient, and profitable for lawn care professionals.That first summer in 1994, he completed about twenty top dressings with his prototype, confirming what he already believed: simple, well-engineered lawn care equipment paired with eco-friendly practices like compost would transform the way professionals care for turf.
Since then, Ecolawn has become a trusted name in top dresser manufacturing, helping landscapers and property owners around the world save time, reduce physical strain, and achieve consistently professional results.
